🍿 About the film: The four March sisters Jo, Meg, Amy and Beth grow up in the middle of the 19th century in a US society dominated by rigid gender roles. The older they get, the more they realize the obstacles this society puts in their way to assert themselves as women - but also how different they are. While the proud Jo wants to become a writer and despises the social role dictates of wife and mother, Meg follows her heart into marriage, while Amy wants to show her uniqueness through painting. The male world is largely critical of the four sisters, with the exception of the subtle Laurie, who is interested in Jo.
