Catherine Earnshaw and Heathcliff share an obsessive passion that is destroyed by class barriers, racism and misunderstandings. Catherine marries Edgar and not Heathcliff. The latter swears revenge. A domestic drama unfolds on the windswept moors of England. Even death does not put an end to it. Wuthering Heights is haunted by a maelstrom of desire and violence that drags subsequent generations into the abyss. Emily Brontë's classic is a dark play about longing, social constraints and the destructive power of human emotions.
