Sukkot-Workshop-Unterwegs mit leichtem Gepäck und großen Zielen
In the organizer's words:
In this workshop, anyone interested (especially members of civil society) will have the opportunity to learn about the Jewish Festival of Tabernacles, “Sukkot.” Sukkot commemorates the exodus of the Jewish people from Egypt 3,000 years ago and the hardships they endured during their long journey through the desert with few possessions.
Together, we’ll build a sukkah, eat traditional Sukkot foods, sing Jewish songs, and dance to the music. Last but not least, we’ll discuss topics related to this festival: the values that guide us on our journey, gratitude for nature’s bounty, and community despite our differences.
A Jewish person will be present at the workshop to share their perspective on the festival. This workshop is of interest to anyone who...
- want to gain insight into contemporary Jewish life
- might one day like to celebrate Sukkot themselves, whether at an allotment garden club, a neighborhood center, or in a church congregation.
