A/V performance live by SONAE

Hybrid set: SONAE & SHAXTAR

Aftershow for the exhibition at Neurotitan: "On the pulse of time - thoughts on the climate crisis"

SONAE's work "Summer" (2021), her album for the French concept label la a p s, deals with climate change and its consequences for people and nature. With her A/V performance "SUMMER. SECOND ROUND", Sonae confronts the challenges of the topic using the design languages of video, music and performance; she takes it up again and develops the topic further - exactly as those responsible seem to need it until action is finally taken.

This is also reflected in the subsequent set together with SHAXTAR: "In the end, it makes no sense to work through a difficult topic alone. After the solo performance, DJ and producer Shaxtar joins in." In the joint hybrid set, the two want to find out how the issue can be musically conveyed throughout the evening.

Sonae is a producer, live performer and DJ in the field of experimental electronic music. She is part of the label collective Monika Werkstatt.

Shaxtar is a DJ and producer between Dub, UK Dubstep and Deconstructed and is currently Sonae's mentee in the New Talents Ruhr funding program.
