Summertime Blues - Saturday in the Kurpark Herchen

TanzBildung presents the Summertime Blues weekend: A cozy, open dance event for everyone who loves Afro-American blues!

Here you can get to know the two-person dance - mindful, improvisational and as individual as the people who dance it. With its wide musical range, the blues can pick up quite a few dancing legs! The taster sessions are suitable for newcomers and experienced dancers alike; no previous experience is necessary. You can come without a dance partner; the dance couples will find each other on the dance floor and there will be a rotation.

The venue is an idyllic spa park directly on the River Sieg. The dance floor is covered and rainproof, the entire event takes place outdoors and there is a lawn for sunbathing and playing. You are not only welcome here with your own instruments or flow arts, "dance grouches" and your dog are also welcome (socially acceptable and on a lead, a shady spot and water are provided).

A drinks and snack package is included in your ticket (soft drinks, coffee, tea, water, snacks, fruit bar). At Kurpark Herchen you can also go pedal boating and play mini golf at cost price, and there is a restaurant and a cute café just around the corner. The journey from Cologne/Bonn takes about an hour and the area is also ideal for a short break. Cyclists and hikers in particular will get their money's worth here.

Procedure on Saturday

15:30 - Check-in (day ticket)
Arrive, get your bearings, discover the park and dance floor.

15:45 - Taster 1: Bluestanz
A low-threshold introductory offer to get to know the music, movement and basic ideas of blues dance.

16:30 - Buffet start (bookable: 20 €)
A delicious, mainly vegan buffet awaits you. More info will follow soon!

17:00 - Fruity Dance
The fruit bar, the sunbathing and play area as well as the dance floor are at your free disposal, there is a creative corner as well as space to relax, meet or watch.

19:00 - optional check-in (day ticket)
Second check-in for all those who only arrive for the evening program.

19:15 - Taster 2: Bluestanz (party warm-up)
Short taster offer as a moving introduction to the evening.

20:00 - Social Dance
Free dancing on the lovingly and atmospherically decorated dance stage into the night and plenty of space for relaxation, dancing and a cozy get-together.

Please note:

• It can get chilly in the valley by the river in the evening and at night.
• For safety reasons, no children or dogs are allowed on the dance stage. Parents and dog owners are solely responsible for their pets and children at the event. Thank you very much.

On Sunday, the weekend will come to a gentle close with another blues dance taster, a dance walk through the Kurpark and a relaxed social dance in the afternoon. For experienced blues dancers, there is also a ticket for the entire weekend with high-quality workshops.
