Svaneborg Kardyb are Nikolaj Svaneborg - Wurlitzer, Juno, piano and Jonas Kardyb - drums, percussion. With influences from Danish folk music and Scandinavian jazz, including Nils Frahm, Esbjörn Svennson and Jan Johansson's recording "Jazz På Svenska", their music is an exquisite and joyful fusion of beautiful melodies, delicate minimalism, catchy grooves, subtle electronic vibes, Nordic atmospheres and organic interplay - all driven by the sheer joy of playing together.

Their music is simple at first glance, but develops and unfolds as you listen, with plenty of room for exploration, reflection and improvisation. Their aim is to create music that is as honest and intimate as possible, "with melodies and rhythms so strong that we are just the messengers", as they say. And their excellent musical chemistry allows them to give little thought to musical influences. This gives their music a captivating charm.

Svaneborg Kardyb hail from Aalborg in Jutland, in the north of Denmark, where they met in 2013. Six years later, they started making music together. Like their new label mates Vega Trails, Svaneborg Kardyb are a duo, a format that gives them plenty of space to occupy - or leave empty.

Svaneborg Kardyb won two prizes at the Danish Music Awards Jazz 2019: New Artist of the Year and Composer of the Year. So far, they have released three studio albums: Knob (2019), Haven (2020) and Over Tage (2022) as well as the release of the At Home (An NPR Tiny Desk Session) EP (2023). The Tiny Desk Session made the international breakthrough and since then the band has toured extensively in 13 different countries. Fortunately, they have found the time to record their fourth album, which will be released on Gondwana Records in the fall of 2024.
