Anyone who has experienced a performance by Svavar Knutur will remember it for a long time. His performances are an emotional rollercoaster ride between being moved to tears and crying with laughter, which cast a spell over you and don't let go so quickly.
The Icelandic singer/songwriter and entertainer Svavar Knútur is a musician with countless facets. With ease and exuberant sympathy, he manages to enchant and captivate every audience from the very first moment. He presents his songs in an incredibly touching way and tells the most absurd stories and jokes in between, spiced up with a good dose of black Icelandic humor. Svavar likes to describe himself as a public health troubadour: "You know, I'm the broccoli of singer-songwriters. Not the sexiest of the vegetables but veeeery good for you!" The Icelander is what a perfect entertainer should be: a personality that is perceived as genuine and at the same time goes beyond his own life without appearing artificial. Svavar Knútur emphasizes existence as a normal person, but sheds a different light on it, offers different perspectives. He does on a very small scale what others would like to create for their audiences on the really big stages. Whereby these big ones almost always fail, because it can't work at all to be a normal person on a huge stage. On the other hand, Svavar enchants his audience as if he were one of the greatest.
