After leaving school, Sarah Welk worked as a supermarket cashier, dishwasher, advertising saleswoman, nanny, cloakroom attendant and finally as an editor at the ARD news program for many years. She now writes books and lives on the North Sea coast with her husband, two children and three chickens.
