On Thursday, 15 January between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m., the HGB will once again be offering a full program for the Saxony-wide Open University Day: the diploma degree programs in Painting/Graphics, Photography, Book Art/Graphic Design and Media Art will be presented, and prospective students will receive individual advice on the application process, the content and structure of the degree program and studying abroad.

🎓Students from all disciplines offer individual guided tours of their favorite and working places at the university in small groups under the title "HGBio", talk about their path to studying art or design and show what they are currently working on. In the portfolio consultations, prospective applicants can have their design/artistic work commented on by teachers and master students

Interested parties can also gain impressions of university life in the open lessons, workshops, classrooms and studios. At the information stand, the inclusion team offers advice on studying with chronic or mental illnesses.

🍃The HGB Gallery is open from 12:30 pm. The exhibition "Notes on Lightness / Notizen über das Leichte" The exhibition examines the concept of lightness beyond common clichés. On display are artistic works that use lightness as a transformative potential: These include improvised dance, the queering of body politics and the "relational modes" of microrevolutionary moments of solidarity. The HGB Library will be showing "Hidden Treasures No. 6 - wunder-, selt- & awesome - Bilder entdecken", curated by Franziska Reinbothe, deputy professor in the Painting/Graphics course, from 11 am.

💬In the HGB Café, the Student Council will be offering hot and cold drinks and snacks until 3:30 pm, and the gift corner invites you to browse. Mobile scouts and advisors at the central info point in the atrium will answer questions and help with orientation.
