Hands-on health - the BMG invites you to an open day

On June 20 and 21, 2026, the Federal Ministry of Health will open its doors as part of the Federal Government's Open Day. We cordially invite you and your family to visit our ministry. Our doors will be open for you on both days from 10:00 to 18:00 (last admission at 17:30).

Take a look behind the scenes and find out more about current topics focusing on health, prevention and digitalization in the healthcare sector. We will also introduce you to the work of the Federal Institute of Public Health (BIÖG), the Federal Institute for Drugs and Medical Devices (BfArM), the Paul Ehrlich Institute (PEI) and the Robert Koch Institute (RKI).

Come and talk to our staff and the management of the BMG, discover the building and explore our topics. Children can look forward to an exciting hands-on course on the subject of "Health" with great prizes and a varied stage program.

Our cafeteria, the barbecue stand, our water bars and the coffee bike will provide for your physical well-being.

Selected program items on our stage and the house tours will be accompanied by sign language interpretation. You will find more information on this in our program soon.

Program highlights

• On the main stage, KiKa presenter Singa Gätgens will entertain with her program "Making children strong" and the stage show "Tanz mal mit der Maus" will delight young and old alike.
• You and your children can take part in "1, 2 or 3" - the quiz show for children on health topics from the Robert Koch Institute.
• On Sunday, meet Federal Minister of Health Nina Warken in dialog with citizens.
• Experience a moderated talk on Sunday with Katrin Staffler, the Federal Government's representative for nursing care, on the opportunities and challenges in nursing care.
• Visit the diabetes info mobile and find out more about diabetes prevention at the information stand.
• The Teddy Bear Hospital will take care of your favorite cuddly toys.
• Listen to exciting presentations and discussions on current health topics - from sepsis prevention and wastewater monitoring of pathogens (AMELAG) to electronic patient records (ePA) and research with health data.

How to get there

The entrance is located at Mauerstraße 29. We are just a few minutes' walk from the S + U Brandenburger Tor, U Anton-Wilhelm-Amo Straße and U Unter den Linden stops.

Please note

Please do not bring any sharp or pointed objects such as scissors or knives. Glass bottles and pepper spray etc. are also not permitted. We ask for your understanding that bag checks will take place at the entrance. In order to shorten waiting times, we recommend that you do not bring large bags and luggage, as these must be handed in before entering the building. A maximum of small bags up to A4 size can be carried onto the outdoor area and into the building. Please carry an identity card or other identification document with a photo. Small and large four-legged friends must unfortunately remain outside.
