In the organizer's words:

With this special exhibition, the Stadtmuseum Halle is addressing a key issue in urban society. People without a safe place to live are constantly exposed to public scrutiny and often experience exclusion and dehumanization. The exhibition confronts this view. It follows those affected to the places where they live, find support or are given shelter.

Students at Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design conducted discussions, interviews and workshops with those affected and visited facilities such as the social counseling service, the housing assistance center and the warming center. Some of the resulting photographs, drawings, research, quotes and texts come directly from those affected. They are actively involved in designing the exhibition.

The project is a cooperation between the Communication Design Photography course at Burg Giebichenstein, the Evangelische Stadtmission Halle e.V. and the Stadtmuseum Halle. Together, they want to make the topic more visible and strengthen acceptance and solidarity in the city.

The initiator is the Evangelische Stadtmission Halle, which has been helping people in need since 1888 and supports people who are homeless or at risk of losing their home on a daily basis. Together with other partners in the alliance "Overcoming homelessness", it is involved in the national action plan "Together for a home".
