About the film: 17-year-old Fanny from Strasbourg travels to Leipzig as part of an exchange program to visit Lena, who is the same age. At the same time, it is also supposed to be a respite for Fanny to escape family tensions and bullying at her school. But after a hesitant start, an intense friendship develops with her German exchange student. In order to impress her admired new friend, who is politically active on the left, she tells a fictitious story about a half-sister who is also politically active. This comes back to haunt her when her friend from Leipzig comes to Strasbourg for a return visit, and the family tensions in Lena's family and the challenges in Fanny's life in Strasbourg force the two of them to confront their own identities.
