World premiere
Alexei Ratmansky, one of the world's most renowned choreographers, is creating his first world premiere for the Hamburg Ballet, based on Lewis Carroll's classics "Alice in Wonderland" and "Alice Behind the Mirrors". The adventures of the small, headstrong Alice in a world that follows completely different rules are still fascinating today. Is it all just a (nightmare) dream? A parallel universe? This enchanting and fantastic story is in the best hands with Ratmansky, house choreographer of the New York City Ballet and brilliant storyteller. Committed to classical ballet through and through, he masters the art of interweaving classical ballet technique with a modern sensibility like almost no other choreographer.
