Raised on an encyclopedic mix of music and inspired early by New York radio mix shows, he later honed his studio edge working at Shakedown Studios under Arthur Baker, before building a catalogue that helped define the era of soulful, piano-led NYC house. Known for enduring cuts like Do You Want Me Baby and Feels So Right-plus his N.Y.'s Finest output-Simonelli's sets are about flow: warm basslines, vocal lift, punchy drums, tasteful disco/garage touches and that unmistakable New York swing.
