No one is more fun in the post-apocalypse (or present) than Tea Eater. Led by Tarra Thiessen (Gustaf and Sharkmuffin), the New York City art-punk band has been making big waves with their debut album Obsession, released in October 2023 and produced and mixed by Drew Vandenberg (Bambara/Faye Webster/Of Montreal). They create weird, wacky wall-of-fuzz songs that double as spells to inspire new potential realities.
Tea Eater have been local support for Thee Oh Sees and have completed headline tours of the East Coast and Midwest, a month-long residency in LA, an appearance at Distorsion Psych Fest in Montreal, and two UK/EU headline tours in 2023 and 2024. In Europe, they have played at Kaltern Pop Festival, Left of the Dial Festival in Rotterdam, Cinetol Festival in Amsterdam and headline shows in Paris, Angers (Levitation France), Berlin and London.
In 2024, they released the singles "Technicolor Rash" and "NY Myth" on a 7-inch vinyl through Greenway Records, along with a remix of "Cosmic Coconut" by David Sound Wizard on a limited edition star-shaped vinyl. Other releases included an alternate version of "Fuck the DMV" and a cover of Liam Lynch's "United States of Whatever" exclusively on Bandcamp. Their second LP, I Don't Believe in Bad Luck, produced by Vanessa Silberman and Jasno Swarez at La Fam Recording, will be released on March 28, 2025 via A Diamond Heart Production.

KUSELIT juggle songs between art-handling, club-booking and family-affairing. The pairing of Andreas Becker and Cristian Schmuck pave the pop champs Elysee with stones of imagined dark wave, strange indie music and freely invented guitar chords. Punk isn't quite dead yet either, at least in terms of attitude. The shelf of brilliant ideas is 76% full, at least in theory.
