In the organizer's words:

When drummer Uli Wegenast and trombonist/guitarist Peter Bob Beutel bumped into each other at a concert in 2010, they started talking about their musical past. Both had played in numerous bands over the years, such as The Lodgers, The Kerls and Loretta & The Chipmunks, and wanted to get something new off the ground together. Guitarist/bassist Thomas Vogel was quickly on board and they agreed on the style of music: garage rock and surf punk with German lyrics! As all three musicians have a soft spot for music of various genres from 60s beat, surf, new wave and garage rock, a brilliant mixture was created over time from this soundtrack of their lives, enriched with western and agent film music.

After recording at the legendary Faust Studio (including Die goldenen Zitronen) in Scheer and live performances - including as support for the Birmingham C86 band The Nightingales and folk rocker Candice Gordon - the Birdbags are now playing more live again and, as the Rheinpfalz newspaper attested at a performance in Pirmasens, are delighting their audience: "The Birdbags were extremely enthusiastic and spread a lot of good humor...". After studio recordings with Daniela Schübel (including Unbite) in the summer of 2023, the new concert season begins with new material.

Jelly Janes - four music-crazy girls from Düsseldorf mix a wide variety of musical styles to create their very own raw jelly sound. Somewhere between indie, alternative, garage and punk rock... with a splash of ska, a dash of blues and lots of fun.
