𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐮𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 are an electronic three-piece from Manchester: Ewan Kinrade (vocals), Charlie Marriott (guitar), Lucy Green (synths).

Their sound sits somewhere between indie/goth and electronica/shoegaze. Guitar and synths don't work as decoration, but as a motor, and the songs seem like their own design instead of "influence-moodboard": the references are big, but not arbitrary: New Order and Cocteau Twins come to mind.

They have been causing a sensation in their hometown of Manchester for a long time, now you can check it out.

Louder Than War describes it more concretely: Noise edges in the direction of Cabaret Voltaire, guitar colors more reminiscent of Sigur Rós/Jonny Greenwood, plus 808 grooves and dark energy of early Cure.
