In the organizer's words:
Robert McCall's (Denzel Washington) strong sense of justice has repeatedly put him in life-threatening situations. He once worked as a human killing machine for the US government's Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA). He gave up this life for his wife, but still felt called to fight against great injustices.
He has now found a new home in the south of Italy, enjoying a quiet life on the Mediterranean and taking pleasure in the culture and the people. But when a family friend is threatened by the mafia, McCall is forced to intervene again. He takes on the mafia single-handedly to protect his friends and has to rely on his instincts again.
