The Happy Fits do not conform to the cliché of a typical indie rock band consisting of guitar, bass, drums and vocals. Instead, the trio stands out with a cello instead of a bass guitar and offers an instrumentarium that is rarely heard. This unique sound, mixed with a playful lightness and a great talent for creating a good mood, are their clear indicators of success. In 2023, The Happy Fits ' music was streamed over 72 million times on Spotify by almost 5 million people and reached more than 2 million new listeners, without the release of any new music in 2023. Only one live album was released in 2023, which quickly turned out to be the most successful year in the band's history. The fact that the trio from New Jersey can already look back on a career with worldwide success in 2024 is an almost romantic success story that is rarely found these days. In May 2024, The Happy Fits will return to Germany, following on from a European tour in spring 2023. With them: the English indie rock band Bears In Trees.

The Happy Fits formed because guitarist Ross Monteith asked his schoolmate Calvin Langman if he would like to accompany him on the cello at their high school graduation party. But it didn't stop at covers. The two quickly wrote four of their own songs together, which they performed on stage and recorded shortly afterwards. The debut EP "AwfullyApeelin '" was released in 2016 - the professional production was a gift from Ross Monteith's parents for his high school graduation. The duo hired a local drummer, Luke Davis, to complete The Happy Fits trio. The band scored their first coup with their song "While You Fade Away" . Within a short space of time, the track was at number 5 in the "Top 50 Viral Spotify Charts". Today, the EP tracks " Too Late" and "Dirty Imbecible" have 28 million and 24 million streams respectively, while " While You Fade Away" has a more manageable 3.9 million streams for The Happy Fits. The band's biggest success on the streaming platform came with their debut album "Concentrate", released in 2018 : "So Alright, Cool, Whatever", a laid-back indie rock track with a dreamy, sleepy post-grunge vibe and easy-listening attitude, now has over 32 million streams and counting. In 2020, The Happy Fits released their second album "What Could Be Better". The life-affirming "She Wants Me (To Be Love) " shows the band from their playful side with indie rock that is both smooth and danceable - a sound that they continue on their third studio album "Under The Shade Of Green" . The Happy Fits confirm their omnipresent positivity with self-ironic tracks such as "Cold Turkey" or "Do Your Worst", which also turn out to be real mood enhancers thanks to their driving rock sound and ensure great euphoria live.
