The Haunted Youth

The Haunted Youth is the band of 29-year-old Joachim Liebens from Hasselt, Belgium. Their fascinating psychedelic pop is reminiscent of acts like MGMT, DIIV, Slowdive or The Cure.
The songs, which are about doubts, hope and the feeling of being a misunderstood outsider - have a wonderfully soft sound that will make you melt.
With their first single "Teen Rebel", The Haunted Youth won Studio Brussel's De Nieuwe Lichting competition. The song is in continuous rotation on Belgian and also European radios. Teen Rebel also attracts attention in on the other side of the ocean: it is even on the cover of the famous and influential magazine American online magazine Consequence of Sound. In 2022 they have played prestigious festivals such as Rock Werchter, Best Kept Secret, Pukkelpop, Tomavistas and the Reeperbahn Festival, where they were also nominated for the Anchor Award.

In November 2022 The Haunted Youth released their debut album "Dawn Of The Freak", which would be completely written and produced by Joachim Liebens himself. In the wake of this, the band played a sold-out show at Brussels' Ancienne Belgique with 2,000 tickets. This year they were in Germany among others at the festivals Stadt Ohne Meer, Orange Blossom Special, the c/o pop and the Maifeld Derby.
