THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST
In the organizer's words:
The Importance of Being Earnest is a lighthearted farce set in upper-class Victorian England. Through mistaken identities, clever wordplay, and absurd situations, Wilde pokes fun at the rigid norms and values of high society. The play revolves around Jack Worthing, a respectable man in the countryside, and his friend Algernon Moncrieff, a charming bachelor in London, who lead double lives to escape social obligations and pursue romance. As their secret identities begin to overlap, complications arise involving two women, Gwendolen and Cecily, who have very particular ideas about love. What follows is a series of humorous misunderstandings, escalating deceptions, and social satire.
- Directed by Tatjana Herold
- Assistant Director: Serena Agbokhan
The Cast:
- Andreas Stahlmann as John Worthing,
- Matthias Krebs as Algernon Moncrieff,
