The Jeals

How do you describe a time that stands between the promise of the future and the fear of collapse, between the social abyss and unprecedented wealth, between globalization and the collonial experience and between science and social media? "The JEALS" are part of their time and of a new NO-FUTURE generation that does not want to accept being one. This "Rage Generation" does not want to accept that economy and growth should come before science and solidarity and has started to fight to shape their future! The five-piece MODERN POST-PUNK band "The JEALS" from Halle provide the sound of protest against an industrial society that is falling ill with itself!

The music of "The JEALS" is just as crazy as the time it comes from! Break parts meet poppy guitar melodies, punky riffs dissolve into hardcore, versatile rhythms meet polyphonic female vocals. The band has found a sound for itself that sounds like a mix of A Day To Remember, SUM41, ZSK and Paramore. The lyrics, written between criticism and declaration of war or world-weariness and confidence, are lyrical and diverse. On their latest album "Future//Now", the band have left their eternal talent behind them and have also become a strong studio band with well thought-out, sometimes ironic, sometimes precisely fitting formulations, their own sound and mature songwriting, after their energetic shows have been stirring up the underground of the alternative scene for years. Live, "The JEALS" have already caused quite a stir with over 200 festival and club shows from Vienna to Hamburg and from Düsseldorf to Bautzen, as support for "Los Fastidios", "100 Kilo Herz", "Blaufuchs", "Casino Blackout", "Vianova" and "Marathonmann" and as winners of the "Bands on Stage" 2022 competition for young talent!

Five partly sold-out headlining tours in Germany, articles in the OX fanzine or in Slam, a label deal with Alster Records and inclusion in the booking agency "Projekt Booking" - all this speaks for the quality of the band "The JEALS", who express frustration and fun in life in equal measure with their versatile, modern post-punk and thus speak from the soul of an entire generation!

CRUCIFY THE DARK - a naive invitation to draw hope from short-term euphoria, to never let go of it, to draw strength from it and to fight against the darkness. With this motto, the 4 guys from the village have been playing alternative rock that comes from the heart since 2018. Every little ray of hope can change your thoughts if you let it.

"It goes on and on" can be a horror show, but it can also be positive, because nothing stays the same.

Blacktory does not claim to offer a solution, but invites you to go in search of one. In their lyrics, the band processes a mixture of real experiences and the result of too much thinking and questioning.

Having grown up with vinyl records and cassettes, Blacktory breathe a fresh, rock'n'roll-inspired sound into their tube amplifiers, but without closing themselves off to the possibilities of modern technology.

After the single debut "Bloodshot Eyes" in August 2019 and appearances such as the Mühlbergfestival or at Rock hinter der Burg, the second single "On and On" followed in April 2020.

Work then began on the first EP Drowned [in] Emotions, which was released two years later on 16.09.2022. In the course of the single releases, the band also left Bavaria for the first time. Whether to Von Welt in Lahr, to the Bandlift Festival in Gerstetten, to Gießen or to the Pegasus Open Air in Mölln - a band has to travel miles and 2022 has definitely laid the foundation for this.

Blacktory embody what you would call a live band - raw, full of emotion and not afraid to take to the stage. Their bags are always packed, the club is their second home and the sweat in the air is reason enough for a sleepless night.
