Since 1996, Berlin hip-hop legend Marc Hype has been celebrating his birthday with the Legendary Birthday Ball. Over the years, many top-class acts such as Pete Rock, The Poets of Rhythm, Nightmares on Wax, DJ Vadim and Jeru the Damaja have been guests. This year, Kirollus and Mofak will be joining them.

Kirollus can justifiably be described as a future legend. The London-based selector, who is at the forefront of a new wave of disco and boogie, doesn't just play records, he embodies them. His stage presence is electrifying and his magnetic style is fearless and fresh. He has amassed his enviable record collection during his time behind the counter at Uptight Records in Hove.

There will also be a live set from Mofak. The producer and composer from Marseille is clearly inspired by the funk of the 80s and the hip-hop underground scene in Los Angeles. His compositions are now appreciated by artists such as Xzibit, Lil'Eazy E and Goldie Loc. Listen to his Funk Fries EP and you'll see that Mofak simply belongs at the Birthday Ball.

2024 marks the 28th edition of the LEGENDARY BIRTHDAY BALL. New and old companions celebrate together and prove once again that musical integrity and zeitgeist are not mutually exclusive.
