In 18th century London, arias from George Frideric Handel's operas were the hits of the day. Of course, since there were no recordings, many people played these melodies at home. A particularly imaginative publisher named John Walsh teamed up with Handel and published arrangements for flute and basso continuo that became very popular. Together with an ensemble of baroque specialists, recorder player Stefan Temmingh brings this festive and entertaining musical tradition to life, taking children and adults on a journey into the past.
