The Mirror is coming back!

The acclaimed work by award-winning company Gravity & Other Myths (GOM) returns to the Chameleon stage beginning August 2023.

The artists:inside of The Mirror face this question as curiously as fearlessly, negotiating the connection between self-love and self-expression with impressive physicality and outstanding acrobatics. The high acrobatic and dance level of the piece meets an innovative light and video design with an LED wall that combines video art and live recordings from several handheld cameras.

Accompanied by virtuoso electro compositions and pop mash-ups, the Akrobat:innen repeatedly push their physical limits while questioning the act of performance itself. Where does art become entertainment and entertainment become art? What does authenticity mean in the age of ubiquitous screens and permanent self-marketing?

The Mirror premiered at Chamäleon in the fall of 2022 and was greeted with great enthusiasm by audiences and the press. A sold-out season in Berlin was followed by a four-week run at the Sydney Opera House in spring 2023. For the revival at Chamäleon, the artists of GOM will once again immerse themselves in the themes of The Mirror and, with a changed cast and old and new faces, will once again cast a spell over Berlin.

Our acclaimed co-commission from award-winning circus company Gravity & Other Myths (GOM) makes a triumphant return to the Chamäleon stage from August 2023.

It's a question the artists of The Mirror face with curiosity and fearlessness, using their bone jarring physicality and extraordinary acrobatic precision to explore the connection between self-love and self-expression. High impact acrobatics spill off the stage, accompanied by a pulsing lighting and video design featuring an LED wall combining video art and live feed from multiple hand held cameras.

Immersed in richly layered electronic compositions and pop mash-ups, the acrobats keep pushing their outer limits while simultaneously questioning the act of performance itself. Where does entertainment end and art begin? What does authenticity mean in an age of ever-present screens and permanent self-promotion?

The Mirror premiered at the Chamäleon in the fall of 2022 and was a smash hit with audiences and critics alike. A sold-out season in Berlin was followed by a four-week run at the Sydney Opera House in spring 2023. For our return season at the Chamäleon, GOM's artists will immerse themselves in the themes of The Mirror again and, with some faces both old and new, captivate Berlin once more.
