Dark clouds on the horizon. The pounding of hooves makes the earth tremble. A sheep rises above its own species, it wants to become a human being: Hubris or the all too understandable desire to improve, to evolve? In a tour de force through the world of human experience, it has to find out for itself that, despite all its efforts, no one has been waiting for this creature, which is ready for absolute integration but still can't really connect anywhere.
The Belgian collective FC Bergman, consisting of Stef Aerts, Joé Agemans, Thomas Verstraeten and Marie Vinck, was already a guest at the Lessingtage 2016 and was awarded the Silver Lion at the Venice Biennale in 2023. In this modern fable without words, the group uses an opulent and stirring visual language that confronts us musically and choreographically with a primal drama of the human condition: The longing for change is a drive that is difficult to suppress. Already planned for the Lessingtage 2022, this impressive evening of theater can now finally be shown in Germany.
