In the organizer's words:
At the end of the first episode DRIFTEN of our current exhibition project The Stories We Inhabit, we cordially invite you to the popular neighborhood festival on the Neustädter Markt! You can join us for breakfast from 11am and visit the exhibition throughout the day. In the afternoon there will be a curatorial talk and in the evening a film screening about the questions and topics that the move of the Bürgergarten from the neighborhood of Neustädter Markt to IDEAL has brought with it.

The event begins with the lifting of the time capsule in the Bürgergarten (Meißnerstraße). The subsequent discussion will take place in the IDEAL garden.

Perspectives on critical curating and artistic activism
Under the motto "Educationally distant - so close?", the 2016 Neustadt Art Festival focused on social injustice and questions of education in institutions. One of the works created there was "Laying the foundation stone for a future school model in the east of Leipzig". This will be "lifted" on 16 June, as a time capsule containing the dreams and wishes of children from the district lies beneath the foundation stone. These were collected in workshops and at the Neustadt breakfast. Today, we want to take stock and, together with our guests as critical curators and art activists, look at the state of social justice, educational opportunities and the possibilities of using art and cultural formats to promote a more democratic society. You are cordially invited to join us for the discussion!
