A ray of hope for 2024 - The Streets play two dates in Germany
The Streets transform the everyday into the extraordinary. Through their music, which spans five albums and a mixtape, the intricacies of life are assessed and reinterpreted from the perspective of an ordinary person. From foggy nights at the club, waking up in a drunken stupor, applying for unemployment benefits, unrequited love and everything in between, every corner is illuminated with sensitivity. Frontman Mike Skinner, a legend of British hip hop, has been shaping garage, drum & bass, house, bassline, grime and rap music ever since, establishing himself as a working class hero.
Now the light, both literally and figuratively, is shining on his latest project: His album "The Darker The Shadow The Brighter The Light" kicks off with a love letter to the club and culture scene. The film of the same name, which he financed and produced, shows how the chaos of a club night becomes the beating heart of his new audiovisual project.
In summer 2024, The Streets will be coming to the Elbjazz Festival in Hamburg and to Berlin - the heart of the German club scene - for a headlining show.
