The album title is named after the ancient Greek flower of the underworld and lyrically Andrews draws more from the great poets than from the well of traditional rock'n'roll songwriters. This is a record that has the quiet, hard-earned confidence of restraint and carefully chooses its moments to raise the roof and howl to the heavens.
The collaboration between Andrews and string arranger Victoria Kelly is a central aspect of the album, and as on previous album ...And Out Of The Void Came Love, Kelly plays an essential role in bringing the songs to life.
The Veils returned to the stage in 2023/24 with sold-out shows across Europe, North America and Australasia to celebrate their 2023 album ...And Out Of The Void Came Love.
