Five bridesmaids. One room. One wedding - and lots of unspoken truths: In June, the moa theater in Hanover is bringing Alan Ball's comedy "Five in the Same Dress" to the stage in a revised, contemporary version.

The performances will take place from June 12 to 20, 2026 at ihmeKult in the Ihme-Zentrum in Hanover.

While the perfect wedding is being celebrated downstairs, five completely different women meet in a bedroom. Between champagne, old conflicts and new desires, a witty and honest exchange about love, friendship, social expectations and the question of what remains hidden behind perfect facades unfolds.

moa theater presents an updated and feministically sharpened production of the 1993 play, which combines pointed humor with more serious themes such as self-determination, abuse and female role models.

About the author: Alan Ball is one of the best-known American screenwriters and playwrights of our time. He became internationally known for his screenplay for the multi-award-winning film "American Beauty" and as the creator of the television series "Six Feet Under" and "True Blood".

About the theater: moa theater is a non-profit association from Hanover that has been staging professional theater productions at various indoor and outdoor venues since 2001. The aim of the association is to make theater accessible to a broad public and to enable people of all ages to work on theater projects on a voluntary basis.
