The lovable mole Grabowski lives in the middle of an idyllic meadow. Day after day, he happily digs his way through the earth, while the sun shines above him and the birds sing. The meadow is transformed into a lively landscape of hills, which occasionally makes the farmer grumble, but for Grabowski it is a paradise.

But one day everything changes. The meadow is surveyed and the menacing sounds of excavators penetrate Grabowski's subterranean realm. Suddenly his home is in danger and Grabowski has to flee to escape the impending disaster. On his search for a new home where he can feel safe and secure, Grabowski has to endure a number of adventures.
