Anker is released after 15 years in prison for bank robbery. The loot was buried by his brother Manfred - a man who has suffered from an identity disorder since childhood. The long wait for Anker has taken its toll on Manfred. He has developed his mental health problems and devoted himself entirely to music.
But Manfred has long since been unable to reconstruct the money and his hiding place. Anker brings his brother back to their family home - which is now rented out by a boxer via Airbnb - in the hope of rekindling old memories.
There is plenty of time pressure: Friendly Flemming, Anker's former accomplice, is hot on their heels and claims the loot for himself. In the dark green forests of Denmark, not only riches but also the deep pain of a wounded child's soul await Anker.
The latest prank from the Danish comedy dream team: "Therapy for Vikings" delivers punchlines every second, is unpredictable, wickedly funny and profound at the same time.
Director Anders Thomas Jensen ("Adam's Apples", "Heroes of Probability") tells an abysmal crime comedy about confused identities and the love between two brothers.
