Soyoung H. Kim writes about her grandmother's life and establishes a connection to the generation of women represented by the statue. Her lecture performance Things That My Mum Didn't Teach Me, presented in front of Ari's statue, is dedicated to the foods that enabled continued life after trauma - fermentation, preparation, serving - as an informal archive of women's labor, grief, and survival that has been largely ignored by history.
Yeni Ma is the curator of the project They Say I'm Dead. Based on the haunting apparitions that return through Ari, she has initiated an ongoing discussion with the artists around Avery Gordon's Ghostly Matters - tracing how invisible beings continue to impact the present.
An event organized by ZK/U in cooperation with the Körber Foundation.
