German-language new wave/post-punk inspired by expressionist lyrics

Behind THON is the musician Sebastian THON, who has already been active in numerous projects - including ZIN and Casino Fatale. With THON, he now presents his dark solo project: a DIY design between new wave, post-punk and electronic music, carried by German-language lyrics that deal with longing, loss and broken love. THON's sound is characterized by cold synthesizers, reverb-soaked guitars and driving bass lines - a clear reference to the dark romanticism and aesthetics of the 80s, without appearing retro or nostalgic. Instead, he creates dense, electronic soundscapes that sound raw, direct and timeless. Sebastian THON has a degree in German studies - his lyrics draw on expressionist poetry, from Kafka to dark modernism. The songs unfold an existential depth that is as melancholy as it is excessive. He has been releasing his music for around a year, playing concerts, including as support for GAST and PHILIPP BOA, and has made his first impressive visual statements with the videos for "Alaska"; "Himmel" and "Berlin". Now comes his EP NO MORE DARKNESS. A hymn to the in-between worlds. Sebastian THON performs live on stage as a singer and bassist and transforms the escape from the world and dark energy of his songs into intense, immediate performances - between club, art performance and catharsis.
