On four nights in January, parts of the Neue Nationalgalerie will be transformed into an interactive concert installation and stage for the poet, activist and musician Moor Mother. Her practice, with influences from experimental hip-hop, free jazz and historical archive work, meets one of Berlin's central contemporary ensembles, ensemble mosaik. The exchange will be supported by a series of solo instrumentalists, theorists and members of the audience. Together they will embark on musical and philosophical journeys through time and explore alternative concepts of time.
The intellectual dialog with the simultaneously exhibited video installation The Clock by Swiss artist Christian Marclay is welcome, but not mandatory.
The four consecutive evenings each offer unique combinations of composed and improvised music, lectures, performances, workshops and interactive elements. Every evening is different. Repeated visits are worthwhile.
