An evening of longing, rhythm and desert dust: Tinariwen perform at Huxleys in Berlin on April 30, 2026.
A piece of Tinariwen are coming to Germany live in 2026 with their "The Hoggar Tour". The Grammy award-winning musicians from Mali are among the most important voices in desert blues and have created their own genre with their unmistakable sound of hypnotic guitars, raw vocals and trance-like rhythms.
With their long desert robes and Tuareg turbans, the so-called shesh, Tinariwen are the pioneers of what is known today as "Desert Blues" - a style of music they themselves call assuf, which means "longing" or "homesickness" in the Tamasheq language. After swapping their Kalashnikovs for guitars during the Tuareg uprising of 1990, Tinariwen became true rock'n'roll rebels. Their raw vocals, spherical guitar lines and rhythmic clapping elements captivate people all over the world.
Over the past two decades, they have performed at festivals all over the world, where they have played a key role in raising awareness of Tuareg culture and identity.
