To Max Liebermann after the official opening hours. The first artistic avant-garde in Germany was inspired by France, where a completely new way of painting and seeing came from: Impressionism. Its most important German representative was Max Liebermann - as a painter, collector and president of the Berlin Secession, an artists' association that organized major international exhibitions in order to establish the new direction in the conservative art world. The fact that the Museum Barberini, with its magnificent collection of French Impressionism, is now honoring this connection in the exhibition "Avant-garde. Max Liebermann and Impressionism in Germany" is wonderful. We are looking forward to more than 100 exhibits and the exclusive guided tour, during which we will have the museum all to ourselves.
