tipBerlin Synthie Lounge mit Mariybu und Ebow

With the tipBerlin Synthie Lounge, we’re launching a new event series at the Synthesizer Museum Berlin. Once a month, musicians will gather there for a conversation. Ebow and Mariybu will kick things off.

The two attracted attention with their collaborative song “Nicht alle Männer” (Not All Men). The track, a pointed critique of rape culture and society’s tendency to look the other way, went viral and reached one million streams in a short time. While Mariybu often addresses political themes subtly on her latest album “Frech,” she also emphasizes the importance of taking a clear stand against oppression.

Ebow is also known for her direct political messages. On her new song “Arbayt,” she explores issues of class and her history as a guest worker. Topics such as post-migrant identity, queerness, and social inequality have shaped her work for years.

It therefore seems only natural that Ebow and Mariybu have come together for “Nicht alle Männer”: Both combine political stances with personal expression and innovative sounds. They’ll be on tour this fall and will also be stopping in Berlin.

Before that, the two artists will speak at the first tipBerlin Synthie Lounge about their current albums, their collaboration, queer visibility, feminism, and the political power of pop music. The conversation marks the kickoff of a new monthly series that brings Berlin musicians together in a relaxed atmosphere.
