Tischtennis Mini-Meisterschaften

In the organizer's words:

Hey you! Do you enjoy playing table tennis, e.g. during the break in the school playground, on the kitchen table or on vacation? Or do you just want to try out the fastest rebound sport in the world?

You can do that with us on Sunday, 18.01.2026 from 11:00 (warm-up), 12:00 TT basic course and from approx. 12:30 start of the TT mini championships. A day with lots of fun, sport and excitement!

If you are still a beginner in table tennis and are not registered for an official competition team and have turned 12 years old at most in 2025, then we look forward to welcoming you to our sports hall on 18.01.2026 from 11:00 a.m. (warm-up and getting to know each other).

We will teach you how to play table tennis from 12:00, if you can't already, and then you can take part in a tournament. There will be (small) prizes for each participant and you will of course receive a certificate if you take part in the tournament.

If you don't have a racket, you can borrow one from us - free of charge for you. The start of the tournament is also free. All you need to bring is your sneakers, a pair of shorts and a colored T-shirt. The tournament will end at around 16:00 with the award ceremony. Pre-registration is not required. Just come along.

Food and drink will be provided. We will be selling delicious waffles, muffins, cakes, coffee, hot chocolate and cold drinks - the proceeds will go to our youth fund.

By the way, the best minis qualify for further rounds and can then even become German Mini Champions. The class with the most pupils receives a special trophy.

"We" is the DJK Roland Rauxel. It was founded in 1919, so it's very old. But our best youngsters play in the highest West German youth league. Our youngest club member is five years old.

Nationwide table tennis campaign for girls and boys

The perennial favorite: mini championships

Since 1983, the "minis" have been playing like the grown-ups all over Germany. More than 1.5 million girls and boys have already taken part in one of the more than 59,500 local mini championships to date.

These figures make the German Table Tennis Association's (DTTB) campaign the most successful youth recruitment event in German sport.

The mini championships offer all children aged twelve and under a sports and games activity that is so much fun and enjoyable that the girls and boys want to play table tennis regularly in the future - in clubs, schools, youth centers and other leisure facilities.

Children up to the age of twelve can take part

This sports development campaign is aimed at all children up to the age of twelve, regardless of whether the "minis" have already picked up a racket frequently or only rarely. However, the girls and boys must not have, hold or have applied for a playing license from a member association of the DTTB. Girls and boys play separately, divided into age groups.

These are:

● 8-year-olds and younger (children born from 1.1.2017)
● 9-/10-year-olds (born between 1.1.2015 and 31.12.2016)
● 11-/12-year-olds (born between 1.1.2013 and 31.12.2014)
