Tobias Mann - Mann gegen Mann

THE 7TH SOLO
Tobias Mann, satirist and musician, faces his ultimate nemesis in his new cabaret program and - surprise - it's Tobias Mann himself. He no longer has the toughest discussions on the internet, but deep inside himself, and it turns out that even Facebook and Twitter are more civilized. Every self-talk escalates and leads to wild insults and hate comments, with no chance of the user being blocked. Bad for him, but good for his audience, who can now take part in this highly entertaining, cabaret-style battle of man against man.

In times of high-flying environmental activists, corrupt representatives of the people and criminal law enforcement officers, it's hard to close your eyes to your own inconsistencies - and that makes you the hulk. To make matters worse, Tobias Mann is also what his name promises: a man - cis, white and, more recently, no longer quite young. Is this perhaps why this toxic masculinity that everyone is talking about and which is turning so many of his peers into angry progress blockers and old-school patriarchs is now taking hold? Hopefully not, but the fundamental question remains: Is the man perhaps the root of all evil? Sure, there are also bad women, but aren't they more proof that - to paraphrase Adorno - "There is no female life in a male system!"

Politicians are gratefully accepting the new German aggression and moving intrigues and power games, which would otherwise have taken place in secret, onto the big stage. For Tobias Mann, all of this is ambivalent and a constant inner struggle: as a person he is pissed off, as a cabaret artist he is grateful for the fantastic material. The satirist in him warns: "The audience absolutely has to take something away with them. It needs attitude!" The social observer replies: "Attitude - all well and good, but you have to illuminate all sides!" The comedian shouts: "Fuck it! The punchline has to hit!"

In his lyrics and songs, the multi-award-winning cabaret artist (including the German Cabaret Prize, Prix Pantheon, Salzburger Stier, German Comedy Prize for the ZDF show "Mann, Sieber!") also takes shots at everything and everyone who deserves it in his 7th stage program. And all too often it's even himself. But don't worry: there are at least two winners in the fight against himself: Tobias Mann and his audience.
