TOBIAS PREISIG & STEFAN RUSCONI: LEVITATION – PALIMPSEST

Swiss musicians Tobias Preisig (violin) and Stefan Rusconi (piano, organ) have been shaping the European music, theater and film scene for 20 years. While Preisig composes music for films, plays with bands such as The Cinematic Orchestra and makes people dance all over the world with his electronica duo Egopusher (most recently at the International Summer Festival Kampnagel 2025), Rusconi has won jazz awards with his own band, composed music for dance pieces by Meg Stuart and released subtle, genre-bending solo piano albums. The two have worked together for many years, performing at everything from the Montreux Jazz Festival to the Kampnagel Summer Festival, where they most recently explored spiritual dimensions in 2018 with theater director Thom Luz in the St. Getrud Church with the long-lasting concert installation LEVITATION. Now the two are returning to St. Getrud Church to record an album live for several days with the 37-stop organ and give the audience a first insight in an open house concert - before performing the finished album there at the upcoming summer festival. Music that blurs boundaries - between acoustic and electronic, between inside and outside, between past and present. Music that - as BLACK AUDIO wrote - "leaves the listener engulfed in waves of analog hypnosis".
