Whether his own compositions or cover versions: Tommy Emmanuel's playing is always brilliant and confronts countless different styles and moods. The fingerpicker shows his listeners what you can get out of a guitar. Breathtaking runs, rhythmic picking, effortless shifting through all keys, sometimes loud, sometimes soft: It sounds as if several guitars are playing at once. You can feel the passion in every note. This virtuoso is not interested in fame, money or recognition, but in expressing the entire range of emotions. His latest album "Living In The Light" was released in October 2025. It was recorded in just four days and is considered the boldest - and most rewarding - collection in Tommy's remarkable catalog of work. It combines his influences from pop, jazz, classical and roots music to create a virtuoso masterpiece that is as captivating as it is intimate. The album radiates a raw, electrifying energy that can only come from an artist who gives himself completely to the moment. While many of the recordings are solo instrumentals, Emmanuel also contributes his voice to several of the album's tracks, lending a touching warmth and vulnerability to his brilliant, percussive guitar playing.
NPR's World Café declared Tommy Emmanuel one of the best acoustic guitarists in the world, the New York Times hailed him as a child prodigy, and Atkins awarded him the title "Certified Guitar Player" (an honor previously bestowed on only four other artists).
