Tony Ann is a virtuoso by profession and a solo pianist with big ideas. He combines the styles of the new and the old to breathtaking effect. A self-proclaimed connoisseur of harmony, Ann always strives to push the boundaries of not only neoclassical and instrumental music, but also pop music. Ann utilizes all eighty-eight keys for his original compositions, drenched in emotion, technique and a huge range.
With over 100 million views and a following of over 4 million on social media, Ann is successfully introducing younger generations to neoclassical music, particularly through his #playthatword series. Using an alphabet written on his keyboard, Ann has created original compositions based on word suggestions from his fans, most of which have subsequently been officially released.
This year, in collaboration with Decca Records France, Ann released a trilogy of EPs (EMOTIONALLY BLUE, ORANGE and RED) as part of a series of 15 tracks exploring the many emotions of the human condition. Away from his solo work, Tony has initiated several collaborations with the likes of Don Diablo, Wrabel and L.Dre, demonstrating his musical versatility and willingness to delve into different genres such as EDM, lo-fi and pop. In addition, Ann was a co-songwriter for The Chainsmokers on their platinum singles "Sick Boy" and "Call You Mine (feat. Bebe Rexha)" as well as the gold single "Side Effects". Ann also played keyboards on the DJ duo's US arena tour.
After 4 sold-out shows in a row at the Parisian club "Le 360" and a celebrated debut tour through Europe in April 2024, Tony Ann is now coming to Hamburg for the first time on May 5, 2025. For his premiere in the Hanseatic city, he has chosen the legendary Laeiszhalle as the venue.
