The South American underground has quietly emerged as one of the most exciting hotbeds for contemporary house and minimal, with a new generation of producers bringing their own perspective to the deeper, groove-driven corners of club music. Among them is Argentina’s Guile, whose productions have steadily found their way into DJs’ record bags thanks to rolling rhythms, understated musicality, and an instinctive understanding of what gets the dance floor moving.
With releases including*Joe’s Garage*,*Freak EP*, and*The Crack E.P.*on Spaghetti Club, alongside*Execute*and*Bleep Me A Beat*, Guile continues to refine a sound that moves freely between house, tech house, breaks, and minimal. Rather than relying on obvious peaks, his productions favor subtle progression, playful details, and grooves that reveal their character gradually—the kind of records that make more and more sense as the night goes on.
On August 22, Guile will travel from Argentina to Hamburg for the next edition of Torture the Artist pres. eDEMi, kicking off with an afternoon session featuring “absolutely on music” at Sunyard before heading to Haus73’s Anbau later that night.
Joining Guile and Holger Breuer for the stream is Enzo V8 from RAWDOGS. Moving somewhere between house, breaks, and UK garage, his selections bring a distinctly different vibe to the afternoon—rhythmically playful, bass-driven, and always closely connected to the dance floor. Through RAWDOGS, Enzo has also helped shape a series that has welcomed artists including Azaad and Anil Aras, gradually carving out its own niche within the broader underground scene. His inclusion makes the Sunyard session a convergence of three distinct approaches, united less by strict genre boundaries than by a shared fascination with groove.
Rounding out both parts of the day is Holger Breuer, founder of Torture the Artist and the driving force behind eDEMi and absolutely on music. His vinyl selections span Minimal, Deep House, and Tech House, frequently incorporating UK influences, broken rhythms, and occasional hints of hip-hop. Patiently built around groove rather than obvious impact, his sets reflect the philosophy behind Torture the Artist itself: digging deeper, allowing records space to unfold, and connecting music through feeling rather than rigid genre boundaries.
Once the stream comes to an end, the focus shifts from Sunyard to Haus73’s Anbau, where Guile and Holger take things into the night. Two selectors behind the decks, an intimate room, and plenty of time to let the music develop properly—from deeper openings and rolling grooves toward wherever the night eventually decides to lead.
From an afternoon of shared selections at Sunyard to a night of deeper dancefloor exploration at the Anbau, August 22nd brings together Argentina, Hamburg, and the wider underground around the simple idea at the heart of eDEMi: electronic, deep, minimal.
