Floria Tosca loves Mario Cavaradossi. When he is arrested by the thoroughly evil chief of police Scarpia and Tosca visits him in order to obtain Cavaradossi's freedom, disaster takes its course. None of the three will see the sunset the next day. A dark piece of operatic history that does not deny its proximity to verismo.
