Organized by the Italian-German cultural association "Stammtisch Pistoia" and the Reutlingen town friendship association Amicizia Pistoia-Reutlingen e. V., the Tuscan Market lends the south side of St. Mary's Church a Tuscan flair. Fifteen direct marketers from Pistoia, its province and the surrounding area will be showcasing their delicious products - from spicy Parmigiano to the legendary hams and sausages from the prominent Italian slow food butcher Fausto Savigni, the best extra virgin olive oil and tempting sweets to fruity, down-to-earth Tuscan wines and the most award-winning Tuscan Vin Santo Giuseppe Marinis.
The Osteria Toscana, run by the agriturismo "A Casa nostra", will also be at the start again: it will delight the palate with freshly made pasta and ravioli al ragù from pork or wild boar, pasta al pomodoro, pasta al'olio, formaggio e pepe, suckling pig sandwiches and suckling pig with pickled vegetables.
The 23rd Tuscan Market in Reutlingen is open on Friday/Saturday, March 28/29, 2025, from 10 am to 7 pm, and on Sunday, March 30, 2025, from 1 pm to 6 pm. The market will be officially opened by Lord Mayor Thomas Keck on Friday, March 28, 2025, at 11.30 am.
This year, the Tuscan Market will also offer a musical highlight: "Passo Uno", a pop-funk band from Pistoia, will bring its sound, which is strongly inspired by the music of the 70s and 80s and combines funk, soul and rock in the style of the Italian pop scene from this period, to the stage. The six musicians present their own songs as well as "classics" from those years. They will play for an hour on Friday after the official opening of the market and at 4 pm, then on Saturday at 11 am and 4 pm and on Sunday at 2.30 pm.
An accompanying cultural program by the Reutlingen Adult Education Center will set special accents: The prominent Pistoiese artist Rossella Baldecchi is offering the workshop "Etching - acquaforte!". She presents a small but fine exhibition of her own works based on this technique. The Gruppo Fotoamatori di Pistoia is also showing a colorful exhibition of portraits of people from and in Pistoia.
