They are known for their energetic and unique live concerts that draw on roots of reggae, soul, afro and indie to create pulsating grooves, colorful horn riffs and soul-soaked vocals. The sound is warm and hopeful, but the messages are direct and revolve around the worrying direction the world is taking. Live, the band creates a space that sparkles with infectious playfulness. The Danish/Ghanaian music collective received a lot of attention when they played extensive tours in Europe, South America and West Africa with the album "Anyankofo", released in 2022. In September 2024, Total Hip Replacement released their new album "Would It Be The Same", which shows a more intimate side of the band. Recorded on the road in Brazil and in the band's own studio, the album addresses both global issues and personal aspects of life, seeking to explore the cracks in society and in ourselves.
