TransformationsZEIT: Geteilte Öffentlichkeit

In the organizer's words:

Media in East and West Berlin: A conversation with author and journalist Alexander Osang and broadcaster Robert Skuppin, moderated by Marion Brasch.

There were newspapers, radio and television in East and West Berlin. Close together and yet separated by worlds. Writer and reporter Alexander Osang began his journalistic career at the end of the 1980s at the Berliner Zeitung in the GDR. At around the same time, today's RBB program director Robert Skuppin was making news at the independent West Berlin station "Radio100".

What did it mean to be a journalist on both sides of the Wall? What did journalistic work look like after 1989, and what is it like today? With this discussion evening, we are building a thematic bridge to our current exhibition Heute noch, morgen schon. Filmic perspectives on Berlin around 1990 at the Museum Nikolaikirche.

Moderator: Marion Brasch
