What is a Trinket Box?

"Trinket" means small piece of jewelry - and that's exactly what it's all about: a Trinket Box is a public exchange box for small, cute things such as collectible figurines, bag charms, stickers or homemade items. The rule is simple: if you put something in, you can take something out. The trend originated in the USA and has also conquered Germany in recent months thanks to TikTok.

It started in Berlin with content creator Malina Florentine, who installed the first Trinket Box at Arnimplatz in Prenzlauer Berg, triggering a wave of enthusiasm. The Trinket Box was very well received until it was allegedly damaged.

A safe place to join in

The Playce at Potsdamer Platz now offers the Trinket Box a protected, supervised location with long opening hours. The Trinket Box is located on the first floor, opposite the Manifesto Market - and invites everyone to celebrate the little things in life, engage in conversation and bring a little more offline interaction into everyday life.
