TRIO SOUNDS AND GROOVES MIT JAZZ FRANÇAISE IM KOLUMBARIUM RHEINKIRCHE
In the organizer's words:
The trio with the Belgian singer Hilde Vanhove and the two musicians Michael Kotzian, piano, and Ulrich Wentzlass-Eggebert, double bass, present their program "Ce soir: jazz français".
In this purely French-language program, the musicians of the trio fuse music from the chanson genre by Léo Ferré, Jacques Brel and Édith Piaf, music by guitarist Jean "Django" Reinhardt and his Hot Club de France as well as music by Oscar and Grammy award-winning French film music composer Michel Legrand and the pop group Pink Martini with elements of jazz music.
The result is not yet another chanson evening, but "Ce soir: jazz français": jazz music with French charm, in which there is plenty of room for improvisation, communication and virtuoso solos: jazz and swing, chanson and three-four time with a pinch of South American rhythms.
